Incoming Clouds at Beachy Head

I walked down to the lighthouse for sunset and enjoyed the transition to watch the Milky Way rise. I only had one shot at getting this as the clouds came in quickly. This is a 3 minute tracked exposure which adds to the detail of the core of the Milky Way and adds to the amount of stars seen also giving some movement to the clouds. I had wanted clear skies, but ended up preferring the composition with the clouds …

Taken with my Nikon D850 and professionally printed in carbon neutral lab in London (additionally for every print bought I donate £5 to the Woodland Trust to help offset any delivery impact). I have chosen to print on Hahnemühle German Etching, which has a warm base tone adding to the glow of the Milky Way core and enhancing texture to the seaweed in the foreground. German Etching is a heavy weight Giclée art printing paper at 310 gsm.
